If you’ve never heard of Boxycharm, it is a monthly subscription box. The box is $21 per month, and guarantees you 4-5 full sized beauty products. Typically, the value of the box is well over $100 each month, making this an AMAZING deal. The theme of July’s box was “Cutie Pie.”
The first product I received in my box was the Boxycharm X Blinc Electric Eyes Eyeshadow Palette. There are 5 beautiful shimmer shades in this palette that are packed full of pigment and shine! They are creamy and blendable, and completely dreamy. My favorite way to use these is to pop them onto the entire eyelid with either a finger or a wet brush. I have been LOVING this palette and will continue to use it.
The next product I received in my box was the BareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo. Much to my surprise, I really ended up liking this. Typically I’m not a fan of pressed translucent powders, so I didn’t have high hopes for the matte side, but this lightly set my face in such a natural and beautiful way. The glow side was not the blinding highlight that I typically go for, but I really loved it because it gave a very natural “glow from within” look to the skin when applied to the high points of the face. I was highly impressed with this little duo.
The next product I received in my box was the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in the shade Notion. I adore Colourpop as a brand, and their products have always been a hit for me. This was no exception. Their ultra matte lip formula is highly pigmented, super matte, and one of my all time faves. While I loved the formula of this lippie, I was not thrilled about the shade. I think that the shade would be beautiful on someone else, but it’s a bit too dark for my skin tone. With that said, I will be saving it for a future occasion when I’m feeling vampy.
The next product I received in my box was the Winky Lux Uni-Brow Universal Eyebrow Pencil. I was really excited to receive this in the box because I go through eyebrow pencils so quickly, that I could ALWAYS use a new one. Lately, I’ve been using a pomade for my brows for this very reason. This particular eyebrow pencil was not my favorite. I’m not a huge fan of the shape of this type of brow pencil. I also wish that the formula was a bit more creamy so that it didn’t drag on my skin so much and it went on smoother. Regardless, I will be using this product up because the color is nice, and, again, I can always use a brow pencil!
The final product I received in my box was the Project Beauty Spray Set Go. I was beyond excited when I saw that this was going to be in the box this month. I love setting sprays, and I’m always running out of them. This product, however, was a real let down for me. The spray is so intense that I had to hold it very far away from my face. Even then, I found the spray to be too strong. I tend to like setting sprays with a fine mist because they do not mess with the look of my makeup. This spray, while the formula was nice, absolutely drenched me, and I did not like that.
The total overall value of this box was about $127, which is amazing! This box was well worth the $21, and I think that Boxycharm knocked it out of the park with the July box. I will definitely be using these products a lot this month, and I am MOST excited to use my BareMinerals duo and Blinc palette more! I can’t wait to see what August’s box holds!
