Beauty At Its Sweetest

If you’ve never heard of Boxycharm, it is a monthly subscription box. The box is $21 per month, and guarantees you 4-5 full sized beauty products. Typically, the value of the box is well over $100 each month, making this an AMAZING deal. The theme of September’s box was “Boxy Baddie.”

Value: $18.00

The first product I received in my box was the MAC Cosmetics eyebrow pencil in the shade “Lingering”. I’m not going to lie, I geeked out when I found out that we were getting MAC in the September box. MAC is such an iconic brand, and to be able to receive it in Boxycharm is just too cool. I absolutely love this eyebrow pencil. It’s thin and precise, and it’s the perfect shade for my eyebrows. The only thing that I don’t like is that it’s not retractable because it is self-sharpening, and it does not have a spoolie on the end, but it’s a great pencil.

Value: $6.00

The next product I received in my box was the Colourpop Ultra Satin lip in the shade “Strip”. I was really excited about this too, because the Ultra Satin formula from Colourpop is one of my all time favorites. This is a beautiful neutral shade that is going to be great for the Fall season coming up. It’s the kind of color you want to wear with your flannel shirt and jeans. The formula of these liquid lipsticks never cease to impress me. They are comfortable to wear, dry down to a satin matte finish, and they have strong lasting power. I have numerous Coulourpop Ultra Satin lips, and I’m happy to add another to my collection!

Value: $35.00

The next product I received in my box was the Studio Makeup Luminous Loose Blush. This is one of those items that is just not for me. I tend to like pressed blushes much better for storage and convenience purposes. While I’m sure this blush looks beautiful and rosy on the cheeks, I’m going to accept the fact that I probably won’t get much use out of it compared to my tarte blushes (my favorite). This will be going in my donate pile, and I’m sure someone who needs it more than I do will love it.

Value: $34.00

The next product I received in my box was the Pur Cosmetics Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette. Oh. Em. Gee. This palette is stunning. This is the first time I’ve tried Pur eyeshadows, and I’m just blown away. Pur was never a brand that stood out to me until recently, but the more products I try, the more I’m falling in love with them. This palette has a great mixture of matte and shimmer neutral shades. It’s the picture perfect every day palette. I’ve been dipping into it quite a bit, and I just can’t get over how buttery and blendable the mattes are, and how pigmented the shimmers are. This one gets a major A+ from me.

Value: $28.00

The next product I received in my box was the BareMinerals Perfecting Face Brush. This brush is to be used by putting your foundation in the center hole of the brush, and working it into the skin that way. I have tried brushes similar to this before, and they are not my personal favorite for foundation. I prefer a bigger rounded or flat top kabuki or a beauty sponge to apply my foundation. With that said, I do think that this brush is very nice if this is your kind of thing, and it does work well. It is densely packed, soft, and is a great size to get into all of those little nooks and crannies of your face.

Value: $18.00

The final product I received in my box was the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Mask. My hair is very finicky, and gets extremely oily, so I have to wash it every day. Typically I try to stay away from deep conditioning masks and super hydrating hair products just because my hair does get so oily. With that said, I have used other Briogeo products, and they have all been wonderful. I have no doubt that this conditioning mask is high quality and works beautifully. I will be donating this item as well, since I won’t get use out of it.

The total overall value of this box was about $139, which is amazing! This box was well worth the $21, and I think that Boxycharm knocked it out of the park with the September box, as always. I will definitely be using these products a lot this month, and I can’t wait to continue playing with these products! This month, I think I’ll get the most use out of the Pur eyeshadow palette, which is just stunning and perfect for every day eye makeup. I can’t wait to see what October’s box holds!
