Physician’s Formula has long been known for their incredible Butter Bronzer. It has been a cult favorite for quite some time. Since the success of the Butter Bronzer, they expanded the Butter line to blushes, and now highlighters. I was fortunate enough to be sent the new Butter Highlighters complimentary for review, and I can’t wait to share my thoughts!
I have been a big fan of the Butter Bronzer for a while, and have gone through at least two of them so far. When I found out that Physician’s Formula was coming out with Butter Highlighters, I was thrilled. I originally expected them to be powders, like the bronzer and blushes, but they are more of a creamy putty type of consistency. They dry down to a powder finish and they are absolutely beautiful on the skin. The texture is extremely buttery, smooth, and blendable, so I truly believe that Butter Highlighter is the perfect name. They are very buildable, so you can go for a natural glow, or a blinding highlight depending on your personal preference. I find that they apply best when gently patted on with a finger, or applied with a dense brush. This allows the maximum amount of pigment to be applied to the skin, and they can be easily blended this way.
Currently the Butter Highlighters come in four different shades. The shades include Rose Gold, Champagne, Pearl, and Pink. I was sent the shade Pearl, which is perfect for my lighter complexion. I am hoping that they will expand the shade range and add more to the mix, because they are stunning! They are paraben free, gluten free, cruelty free, hypoallergenic, clinically tested, and dermatologist approved. These highlights retail for $10.95 which is a great affordable price. I give them an A+ for sure and I think Physician’s Formula knocked it out of the park, as usual!
